Why QC Matters in the Rep Buying Process

Quality control (QC) is the single most important step in the rep buying process. When you order through SugarGoo, your item travels from the Weidian seller to SugarGoo's warehouse before being shipped to you. This creates a critical window where you can inspect your item before it leaves China.

Skipping QC is one of the most common mistakes new rep buyers make. Without QC, you're essentially buying blind — you won't know if your item has defects until it arrives at your door, by which point it's much harder to get a resolution. With QC, you can catch issues early and either request a replacement or get a refund before the item ships.

How to Request QC Photos from SugarGoo

Getting the most useful QC photos requires knowing how to communicate with SugarGoo's QC team. Here's how to request comprehensive QC photos that give you the information you need.

When requesting QC photos, be specific about what you want to see. Don't just say "please send QC photos" — instead, specify the exact angles and details you need. For sneakers, request: overall side profile (both sides), toe box close-up, heel close-up, sole unit (top and bottom), insole, tongue label, and any specific areas of concern.

For clothing, request: front and back full shots, close-up of any logos or embroidery, label/tag photos, close-up of any hardware (zippers, buttons), and fabric texture close-up. The more specific you are, the more useful your QC photos will be.

Common QC Issues and How to Handle Them

Even with the best sellers, QC issues do occur. Here's how to identify and handle the most common problems.

Minor issues (slight color variation, minor stitching imperfections) are generally acceptable and don't warrant a replacement request. These are normal variations in handmade products and won't be noticeable in everyday wear.

Moderate issues (noticeable logo misalignment, visible glue marks, significant color discrepancy) should be flagged to SugarGoo. You can request a replacement from the seller, and SugarGoo will facilitate this process. Be prepared to wait an additional 1-2 weeks for a replacement to arrive at the warehouse.

Major issues (wrong item received, significant structural defects, completely wrong colorway) warrant a full replacement or refund. Document the issues clearly in your QC request and SugarGoo's support team will help resolve the situation.
